Assistant professor at tje University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical faculty Department of wood science and technology. Experience on wood pests and wood protection, service life. PhD thesis Interactions of boron compounds and wax emulsions with wax and wood decay fungi. Thesis was proposed for Jesenko award for the most successful PhD study on Biotechnical faculty. For thesis I received Golden sign ZLS 2012 of Slovenian confederation of wood. In 2022, I was awarded the prize for the best teaching staff member in the Department of Wood Technology in the academic year 2020/21He is  a leader of Infrastructural programme for preparation, weathering and field testing of wood and lignocellulosic materials. The aim of infrastructural program is to offer platform for durability testing, service life prediction, weathering,… of wood and bio based construction materials. Currently I he is working on national and international projects releated to wood durability, the use of recycled wood and alternative wood species, increasing the use of wood in green public procurement. In the past he  worked on field of wooden construction and natural thermal insulations especially with cellulose insulation. Consulting on wood damage caused by fungi and insects. Advice on the rehabilitation of wooden buildings. Advice on the restoration of wooden buildings after floods.
