He completed his studies in architecture with Prof. E. Ravnikar. Since 1974 he has been employed at the University of Ljubljana, and since 1988 he has lectured in urban planning and architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, where he was the head or dean and full professor from 1987 until his retirement in 2016. He was a visiting professor in Belgrade, Skopje, Podgorica, Graz, Milan, Birmingham, New York, Oslo, Stockholm, Grenoble, Venice, Lugano, Trento, Trieste, Lisbon and Oxford. Since 1997 he has been the owner of the architectural office ARHITEKTURA d.o.o. He was the city architect of the city of Ptuj. For his work, he has received several important national and international awards and numerous awards at domestic and international competitions in the fields of design, architecture and urban planning. In long-term cooperation with fellow designers, he is the co-author of many important bridge structures in Slovenia and abroad. He is the author of numerous professional and scientific articles and a member of domestic and international academic and professional associations.
